Last summer, all of those stories unexpectedly came back to life.
Shot in the style of cinema verité, and interlaced with archival footage and interviews with war survivors, this compelling film opens the door on the intimate lives of people coping with the fresh scars of war - the results of systematic slaughter, starvation, familial loss, bombings, murder, and psychological terror inflicted upon them.
During the war, the region of Northern Bosnia was largely hidden from the media eye. While most of the world focused on the televised horrors of Sarajevo, Gorazde and Srebrenica, the crimes being committed in the city of Banja Luka and the surrounding area went largely unnoticed. This film is a window into the harsh reality of what actually happened there.
